Scholarship and Bursaries

Academic Scholarships are offered at 11+ and 16+. Scholarships are worth one half of the school fees and Exhibitions are worth one quarter of the school fees.  All applicants who sit the entrance examination for Year 7 and Year 12 are considered for a Scholarship or Exhibition by the Headmistress and Governors. There is no need to complete a separate application form.

Music Scholarships are also offered, on the results of an audition, to girls who have qualified in the academic entrance examination.

If you wish to apply for a Music Scholarship a separate Music Scholarship Application Form must be completed and returned to the school by 28th November 2008 at the lastest.

Bursaries

Bursaries can be awarded up to 100% of tuition fees on entry at both Year 7 and Year 12.  They can also be awarded during a pupil's time at Channing if personal circumstances change.

The Governors are committed to widening access to Channing and to increasing the available funds for bursaries each year.  The number of bursaries available will vary dependent upon funds available.

The decision to award a bursary will consider both financial circumstances and the overall potential of each applicant and will be made by the Headmistress in consultation with the Governors. In order to assess financial criteria, applicants for bursaries will be asked to complete a Statement of Financial Circumstances.
