Dear Parents
I am absolutely delighted to attach a copy of Channing’s Inspection Report, which I have just received following our inspection in March. The report is testament not only to the ‘outstanding’ pastoral care at this school but also to the superb teaching that your daughters receive, from Reception to Year 13.
My thanks to you for completing the parents’ questionnaire and to your daughters for making the Inspectors feel so welcome and for showing them just how special Channing is. The Inspection Team used evidence from your responses, as well as work scrutiny, interviews with staff, students and Governors to reach their conclusions.
The team recommended just one “Next Step” for us, to extend the sharing of good practice in teaching and learning, an area that the Governors and I had already identified for development.
I was very proud of all the staff and girls during the Inspection Week and my confidence in their dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism has been borne out in this report. It is a point of pride that the inspectors noted that the girls are ‘self-confident, courteous and have a very high level of social skills’, as well as being ‘highly articulate’.
The inspectors were particularly impressed with the girls’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural education, and our pastoral care, as well as commenting on some outstanding examples of scholarship and teaching.
What a ringing endorsement this is too of an all-girls’ school!
Please do read and enjoy the report.
