The Fairseat branch of the Channing Association is the social and fundraising group for the Junior School and is responsible for a number of events throughout the school year. The highlights are the November Fireworks, the Christmas Bazaar, the Spring Social and the Summer Family Day. These, along with the many other events, raise money for extra equipment and facilities for the girls and we also make contributions to the School’s designated charities throughout the year.

Autumn Term
We start the term with a New Families Tea to give new parents an opportunity to meet each other. We then have the AGM in October and a spectacular Fireworks night in November; both of which are shared events with the Senior School.
In December, the Association puts on a wonderful Christmas party for Reception and Year 1 (complete with Father Christmas!) and we finish the term with our Christmas Bazaar, a great opportunity to buy those last-minutes gifts and get everyone into the festive spirit with mulled wine and mince pies.
Spring Term
The key event for the Association the Spring Term is the Parents’ Social evening, held in March and eagerly anticipated by the girls in Years 5 and 6, who are allowed to attend with their parents.
The Fairseat girls also participate in the annual Swimathon at the Mallinson pool, organised by the Senior School. And, on the last day of term, there is a traditional Easter Egg Hunt in the grounds of Fairseat for Reception through to Year 4. This is then followed by a Treasure Hunt for Years 5 and 6.
Summer Term
The Fairseat Family Day held in June is the main event for the Summer Term. With an ever-increasing number of stalls, a BBQ and Pimms served on the school lawns it’s a fun-filled day for the whole family.
The beginning of July is Founders' Day and we ask all the girls to bring in flowers to decorate their classrooms and the Year 6 girls run a French Café in the courtyard. The following Monday, the Association organises an optional day trip, which in previous years has been to Chessington World of Adventures.
At the end of term, it is time to say goodbye to our Year 6 girls with a Mothers' and Daughters' Rounders Match followed by a delicious tea, where we present the girls with their Year Books – a wonderful keepsake of their time at Fairseat.
These are just some of the year’s highlights as there are many more events, such as cake sales, coffee mornings, second-hand uniform sales happening throughout the year. We cannot run any of these events without the help of our hard working Class Reps and all the parents who are so generous with their time.
We thank you all for your continued support.
