Mrs Barbara Elliott (MA Cantab) studied Spanish and French at New Hall, Cambridge and has been Headmistress of Channing for twelve years. She has spent her career, originally as a modern languages specialist, in a wide range of academic schools, from all boys to all girls, state and independent, co-educational and further education. She is deeply committed to the pupils at Channing and is proud of the school's success, both in its outstanding academic achievements, music, drama and sporting prowess, and the spectacular building programme which is nearing completion.
Mrs Elliott has three main interests: her four grown up sons and two grandchildren, travelling, and one rather lively and enthusiastic little dog named Connie (named after the school motto “Conabor”).
“I love watching young girls grow into fantastic women who are going to go out there and take on the world and thrive and contribute.”
