Channing Certificates Evening

Channing Governor Delva Patman inspired Channing girls who came back to the school on 29 March for the Certificates Evening.
Originally planned for the beginning of January, the school was snow-bound so the event had to be cancelled. Due to the disappointment it caused, this alternative date was slotted into the diary. Delva Patman’s stimulating message was that anything is possible and that the girls should aspire for whatever they want without thought of barriers that could impede their progress. She told her own story, illustrated with a selection of varied hats reflecting her lifelong passion for headwear, sparked by the enthusiasm and foresight of her own Headmistress.
A taste of Channing present was given by a short musical interlude by violinist Francesca Walser and singer Lara Dawood in Year 13, both coincidentally with university offers to read Medicine. The evening ended with the returning parents and Channing girls reminiscing over a glass of wine and a buffet.
