Musical Soiree
Dear Friends
I have put on a good number of things in my time - school concerts, village shows, church musicals, Harvest Supper entertainments etc etc - but I want you to know that nothing has given me more pleasure or more of a kick than the Soiree.
Right from the start I knew it was going to 'fly' and as each item unfolded I felt happier and happier. By the time we reached the end I was ready to pop!
Many, many congratulations and many many thanks to every one of you. Your enthusiasm, patience and dogged determination to get it 'Right on the Night' made for a simply great occasion and one that no-one will forget.
The warmth of the welcome that we received from Barbara Elliott, and the wonderful hospitality laid on by Nicole Sharman, set the scene brilliantly. All that, coupled with your performance and a great audience who were prepared to join in, and we were home and dry.
Sue and I, having been in different forms at school, and therefore really only knowing one another fairly superficially, are now joined at the hip for ever! And we feel that you have all made friendships that are very special too.
So, three cheers for the Channing Old Girls (and friends) and for the opportunity to say thank-you in a positive way for all that school has meant to us! You can feel justly proud of yourselves.
With all good wishes and lots of love
Sandra and Sue
