Arrangements for unexpected school closure

(due to very bad weather conditions or other emergency)

The decision whether or not to close the school will be taken by the Headmistress and the Senior Management Team. The safety of girls and staff will be the major priority.

When the school has to be closed for bad weather a message will be put on the main school voicemail and will also be posted on the home page of the website.

In the event of a more serious emergency, parents may be contacted also by e-mail.

In the event of a school closure, girls who do arrive on site should report to the main office. Senior staff will supervise them until they can return home safely.  Similarly, any girl who finds herself unable to get home should return to school and report to the main office, or to a member of staff if the main office is closed.

The aim is always to keep to the normal routine of the day with lessons continuing unless otherwise notified.
