Channing is like a family.
With its outstanding pastoral care, girls settle quickly into Year 7 and soon feel that they belong to a special, kind and caring community.
In the Middle School, we aim to build confidence and self-belief in a safe and supportive environment so that each girl can explore her potential to the full. Each girl is valued and individual success of all kinds is celebrated. Our Star of the Week award recognises acts of kindness and special achievement.
Upper School
Girls in Years 10 and 11, the GCSE years, form the Upper School. A wide choice of GCSE subjects is offered allowing girls to maintain a broad academic base for as long as possible. Latest news: The Apprentice comes to Channing
On Friday 10 September, Year 10 spent half a day bonding by taking part in a highly successful simulation of the BBC's The Apprentice. The girls worked in small groups to devise a product to put before Sir Alan Sugar (Mrs Elliott) and Margaret Mountford (Mrs Mawston). The girls really rose to the challenge and came up with some amazingly creative products. It might not be too long until we are all enjoying a smoothie at break time or downloading the ichanning app on our iphone or even clearing out our clutter.
