We play an active role in the East London Consortium
Life at Channing doesn’t stop at the school gates; our pupils help out in the local community and our staff share their experience and knowledge with other schools and organisations. For example, teachers give up their time to carry out mock Oxbridge interviews with sixth formers from local secondary schools.
We play an active role in the East London Consortium (an amalgamation of London State and Independent Schools), hosting discussions on topical curriculum issues, running masterclasses and training sessions on subjects such as how best to use iPads in the classroom. The focus this year is on developing leadership and management capacity across the schools.
Our pupils are also involved with KIT (Keeping in Touch); an organisation dedicated to educating older people in the use of computers.
