The Channing Experience

The ‘Channing Experience’ describes the broad and holistic experience girls have here in addition to their academic studies. It encompasses co-curricular activities, extracurricular activities and quite simply, enjoying all the other opportunities at school, outside the classroom!

We are an academic school and research tells us that there is a clear link between academic success and getting involved in other activities as this provides a valuable balance and the chance to make friends in other year groups.

At Channing there are a huge range of things to enjoy, including clubs, trips – both locally exploring the culture of central London and internationally, including trips to Cuba and Cadiz, New York and Sports trips to Barbados and Austria. Music is very popular and concerts take place every term along with informal recitals while our popular ‘Music at Teatime’- where staff and girls alike can relax and enjoy a range of student performances each week – are very well supported.

The Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme thrives here and the whole school loves to hear how the various expeditions are going as participants keep us all in touch with pictures and reports along the way.

Channing students are also keen (and successful!) participants in competitions, including Young Enterprise and Teen tech while supporting charitable projects is in our DNA with a number of popular local initiatives as well as national and global.

There really is something for everyone and here at Channing there are a myriad of opportunities to discover and enjoy new interests both at the Junior and Senior Schools.
