Music at Lunchtime – 15.11.2019
This Friday’s ‘Wild about Wind’ Music at Lunchtime was a veritable feast. The Senior Flute Ensemble delighted with ‘Mad World’ which was anything but, followed by ‘Get Lucky’. We certainly did. Constantina Papadopoulos showed us just what the bassoon is capable of with a lyrical account of ‘Andante ma Adagio’ from Mozart’s rarely heard Bassoon Concerto. Alia Khalouf enticed us with the sounds from another land with ‘Pièce en forme d’Habanera’ by Ravel. The French theme continued as Rose Marshall successfully navigated her way around the intricacies of Poulenc’s ‘Allegro tristamente’. Constance Froment and Emily Brown delivered a completely magical account of the 1st Movement of Doppler Andante et Rondo. Alia and Rose then joined forces for some Jazz duets on the saxophone – what a treat.
