Music at Lunchtime – Friday 21st January 2022

Last Friday we transferred to the Founders’ Hall for our recital due to the stage of the Arundel Centre being transformed into an Austrian Abbey/Country house. Continuing the Austrian theme Ellie S delighted us with a traditional Austrian Ländler for her debut performance at a Music at Lunchtime played on the harp. Georgie M ten gave her debut performance on the clarinet with a lovely performance of Romance by German. We have heard several excellent performances form the talented Evangelina U so far this year and her rendition of Sia’s Unstoppable was no exception and delivered with real conviction. It was delightful to have a third debut performance from Nuha I who played Funkmeister as a solo on the clarinet by James Rae; she is certainly someone to watch for the future! Finally the showstopper was a fabulous performance of ‘Voi che sapete’ from Mozart’s ‘Marriage of Figaro’ which Sophia M introduced and then wowed the audience with her vocal skills – she is also in Sound of Music so we will hear more next week! Music at lunchtime is taking a break during the show and we will be back on Friday 11th February. Do listen to the recital!
