Music at Lunchtime – Friday 27th May – In the Courtyard

The weather could not have been better for our special Jubilee edition of Music at Lunchtime outside, basking in the sunshine whilst everyone ate fish and chips and ice creams! Amelia D-A was our first performer with an exciting Musette played ably on the cello. Nadia Z then followed with a lovely rendition of ‘Colours of the wind’ from Alan MEnken’s ‘Pocohontas’. Next up was Becky R-A playing the gorgeous ‘Autumn’ by Fauré on the double bass with much subtlety. Ellie W, following her performance of Gretel in the Sound of Music was promoted to Maria for her singing of ‘The Sound of Music’ main theme – beautifully captured! Nuha I really showed us some virtuosic playing in the exciting ‘Prelude’ by Finzi on the clarinet and the recital was rounded off with Kezia C’s mesmerising performance of the slow movement from a Bach sonata on the Soprano Saxophone. We had a wonderfully supportive audience and it was a real carnival atmosphere. A delightful way to segue into the half term break! Unfortunately due to a technical hitch we have been unable to get a recording of the recital.
