Music at Teatime – Friday 21st May
How wonderful to be able to hold a concert that spanned generations of Channing students! With restrictions lifting cautiously we were treated to Isla McNamee (Cello) lulling us with a pretty ‘Edelweiss’. Aimee Rosenthal (Alto Saxophone) woke us gently from our reverie with a positively charming ‘Nocturne’. Molly Bloom (Flute) delighted with a sparkling account of ‘Sommarsång’. Stella Hastings (Violin) certainly gave us something to think about with her heartfelt and passionate wordless prayer of repentance ‘Vidui’ by Bloch. Charlotte Woolley (Alto Saxophone) enticed with a magical Sarabande and dance-like Allegro. The year 10’s, Kimi Coetzee, Anushka Dimitrov, Arissa Raja-Hussain, complete with vibrant sashes, having enthralled and wowed at the Musical Theatre evening, provided another audience with the opportunity to revel in their medley of ‘Songs from Hamilton’. It may have been a damp Friday outside but in our Arundel Centre it was a Fun Filled Fabulous Friday! Do listen again here.
