Year 12 students studying Maths A level were invited to visit KPMG at Canary Wharf to see how Maths is used in the world of global finance. Karim Haji is a Partner at KPMG and Head of Financial Services and is a parent at Channing, who made this possible for us. We had a fascinating tour of the very impressive Head Office at Canary Wharf and enjoyed the air conditioning on the hottest day of the year! We met a range of people at different stages in their careers ranging from tax consultancy to ESG consultants. Our students were able to ask people about the KPMG graduate programme and see how Maths was used in all aspects of their roles and how they worked with their varied client base. They were especially interested in KPMG work with human rights and sustainability. Here is a photo of our students in one of the meeting rooms! It was all very inspiring and has prompted our students to think more deeply about the next steps in their lives. Thank you to KPMG for organising this.
