This year’s programme has a Hispanic flavour with all the music being written in either a Spanish style or by a Hispanic composer. The Symphony Orchestra are playing De Falla’s ‘El Sombrero de tres picos’, the Year 7 Chorus will be singing ‘Kuku-ué’ by Eva Egalde, the Chamber Choir sing Two Spanish Traditional Songs and a Latin piece entitled ‘Chilli Con Carne!’ followed by our Latin Percussion Ensemble. The Senior Strings play the poignant ‘Toada Triste’ by Guarnier. The finale of the evening includes the combined forces of our Cantemus Chorus, Conabor Choir and the Orchestra performing two of pieces by Xabier Sarasola and Manuel Tenorio, at which point the Year 7 Chorus join the fray with a joyful and rousing ‘Jubilate’ by Josu Elberdin to close the concert.
