Bursaries

Channing School Bursary Fund

Channing School has always offered financial assistance to girls who would not otherwise be able to enjoy the benefits of a Channing education. The Governors endorsed this approach in 2009 and the school is strongly committed to providing further means-tested bursaries in order to widen access to the school.  Our aim is to offer bursaries to 10% of our pupils.

Channing school currently funds all bursary awards out of fee income.  In order to provide for generations to come and safeguard future awards, we would like to increase the funds available for bursary support and have created 'The Bursary Fund' specifically for this purpose.  This fund will not only cover school fees for those who need them, but also the ‘extras’ that enhance the school experience such as music lessons and trips.

A gift to the Bursary Fund will make a real difference to the lives of many local girls, enabling them to achieve their potential and to go on to make a difference in the lives of others.

  • £100 will help pay for a school uniform
  • £250 will fund music lessons for 1 term
  • £500 will cover the cost of a pupil taking a full role in the Duke of Edinburgh programme from Bronze to Gold
  • £1,000 will enable a pupil to take full advantage of major overseas trips offered by the school
  • £5,000 will pay for school fees for 1 term (£15,000 per annum)
  • £100,000 will cover the cost of a Senior School education
