At Channing Junior School, our wraparound care is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring every girl feels valued and well cared for throughout her time with us.. The school is open from 7.30am when Early Birds (our before school club) starts, until 6.00pm when Late Owls (our after school provision) finishes.

Early Birds
The girls can be dropped off at the School Office door between 7:30am and 7:55am for Early Birds. Girls then make their way down to Fairseat Hall; staff are available to help the younger girls. They are served a healthy breakfast and there are a choice of activities to do. The girls then join their classmates in the playground from 8:00am. There is no charge for Early Birds.

Mini Owls
Mini Owls runs from 3:00pm-3:35pm for girls in Early Years and Key Stage 1 only. The girls are taken by their Form Teacher, after their pick-up time, to a designated classroom where they take part in a planned practical activity and have a snack. Parents are able to collect their daughters from Mini Owls at 3:35pm. There is no charge for this, but parents are required to sign their daughter(s) up in advance.

Late Collection
Girls who are not collected at their dismissal time, and who are not signed up for Mini Owls, are taken to Late Collection. This is located in the Library. Here, girls enjoy a calm activity such as quiet or shared reading, mindfulness or colouring while they wait to be collected. Parents are able to collect their daughter at any time within Late Collection directly from the external door outside the Library.

Late Owls
At Late Owls, which begins at 3:35pm, the girls are able to take part in a range of activities, complete any of their assigned homework, and are served delicious snacks, sandwiches and soup. Pupils can be picked up at any time from Late Owls directly from the School Office. This provision ends at 6:00pm.
