Our Music at Lunchtime recital featured performers from Years 7, 8 & 9, beginning with Maria B playing the exciting and lively ‘Buccaneer’ by Arnold on the piano. Handel’s ‘Sicilienne and Allegro’ from his recorder sonata in F was then played superbly by Georgie V, showing how a recorder should really sound! Flora was certainly in command of her cello in her stylistic and musical performance of Vivaldi’s ‘Allemande’ from his 6th Sonata. It was then the turn of the trumpet in Ester K’s capable handles as she played the beautiful Fauré ‘Pavane’ with real poise. Becky R-A completed today’s recital with a heartfelt performance of Sara Bareille’s ‘She used to be mine’ from ‘Waitress’ – what a performer! It was a great way to send us all off merrily on our half term break, but if you were not able to be there, listen here:
