Music at Lunchtime – Friday 27th September

Last week’s lunchtime concert was a stunning showcase of talent and emotion, beginning with a beautifully emotive performance of “Losing My Mind” from the iconic musical Follies by Stephen Sondheim. This captivating piece was sung by Amara P from 11HWo, whose heartfelt interpretation brought the poignant lyrics to life. Accompanying her on piano was the ever-talented Mr. Fallon, whose delicate touch enhanced the overall ambiance of the performance, creating a truly memorable moment for everyone in attendance.

Following Amara’s touching performance, Flora G, also from 11HWo, took the stage with a lively and exciting rendition of the challenging “Scherzo Goens” on the cello. Flora’s skillful playing and vibrant energy captivated the audience, showcasing her hard work and dedication to mastering this intricate piece. It was a delightful contrast to the previous performance and demonstrated the diverse range of talent within our school.

Next up was Mei-Xing L-C from 12EHa, who delivered a powerful and rich performance of “I’m Not the Only One” by Sam Smith. Her voice resonated beautifully throughout the hall, perfectly suited to the emotional depth of the song. The audience was moved by her rendition, which highlighted her vocal prowess and artistry.

Finally, the concert concluded with a bang, as resident saxophonist Kezia C from 12RD performed the demanding “Caprice 3” by David Salleras. Kezia’s flawless execution of this challenging piece left the audience in awe, showcasing her remarkable talent and mastery of the saxophone.
