Music at Lunchtime – Friday 13th June

Amelia Z (8AK) opened the concert with a poised and elegant rendition of One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story by Bernstein. Her delivery was both touching and beautifully controlled.

Next, Araiya N (8CC) took to the stage with Squire’s Tarantella on the cello. Her fiery energy and impressive technical skill captivated the audience from the first note.

Saisha D (8AK) followed with a heartfelt performance of Heather by Conan Grey, singing while accompanying herself on the piano. Her graceful voice conveyed the emotions of the song with clarity and depth.

On the violin, Yasmin L (9JB) performed Massenet’s Meditation with warmth and virtuosity. Her warm tone and confident technique made for a truly enchanting experience.

A special treat came in the form of a trio—a rare delight for a Friday! Thea I (8VS) on violin, Meera K (8LV) on guitar, and Saisha D (8AK) on piano and vocals performed Dust in the Wind by Kansas. The seamless coordination between the musicians created a beautifully harmonious piece.

Eliana H (9GHa) gave a stunning performance of Billie Eilish’s L’amour de ma vie. Her vocal range was remarkable, and she navigated the song’s riffs and runs with impressive ease and finesse.

To end the final concert of this year, in a truly captivating performance of Thank You for the Music, Teresa G (12MH) not only hit every note with grace and confidence but lit up the stage with a charm and presence that had the whole audience smiling back at her.

So finally, to every performer this year, all the audience members, the music department and, of course, Mr Boxall: thank you for the music!
