Channing students are celebrating an outstanding set of A level results this summer, with 90.9% of grades awarded at A*-B, 62.4% at A*-A and 22.3% at A*. Over half of the subjects achieved a full set of results at A*-B grade, while over a third of our students achieved all A*-A grades.
One fifth of the year group completed an EPQ independent research project in Year 12, and 81.8% achieved A*-A.
Head Girl Natasha, who joined Channing at the age of four, achieved a full set of As and will go on to read Biomedical Sciences at Oxford. Another Junior School joiner, Orla, also achieved three As, including one of the highest marks in Art in the country. Following an Art Foundation course, she will study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Bristol.
Testament to the school’s commitment to inspiring students to find and pursue their individual passions, Channing students will be taking up places on a wide range of courses at world-class universities. As well as Biomedical Sciences, Business and Management, Computer Science, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Languages, Law, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Philosophy and Veterinary Medicine, girls will be studying Biochemical Engineering, Criminology, Fashion Marketing, Games Design, International Relations and Psychology, to name just a few.
In addition to success at Oxford and Cambridge, leading Russell Group universities dominate the list of destinations, with the Universities of Bristol, Leeds and Edinburgh topping the table. Other top choices, with multiple places confirmed, include Nottingham, UCL, Bath, Manchester and Exeter.
Lindsey Hughes, Headmistress, is full of praise for her Year 13 cohort and their teachers alike:

“Of course, exam grades don’t tell the whole story. What pleases us just as much as the students achieving strings of top grades are those who have enjoyed significant personal triumphs—whose hard-fought results are enabling them to pursue their chosen course at the institution of their choice. Ninety-two per cent of the year group will be doing just that, including overseas in the USA, Canada and France.
