Our Young Enterprise teams have been extremely busy in the last week, participating in two competitions. The first, last week, was the Euronext Blue Challenge hosted online, where they faced stiff competition from the teams from St Paul’s Boys School. Our Team Textus wowed the judges with their recorded slides presentation and won the prize for Best Pitch and are to be judged against St Paul’s team “Nutree” in the deciding interview session on Monday for the Best Company award.
Our teams travelled to St Francis Xavier Sixth Form College in Clapham to participate in the Regional YE Company Programme final. Both Team Textus and SCANdle were awarded a Finalist Award for competing and Team Textus won the Innovation Award for their product Sustainadoll, a doll making kit using recycled T-shirts.
Both teams are now up and running and ready to trade so do watch out for opportunities to buy their products. SCANdle are selling home-made candles made using recycled jars which have a QR code to scan taking you to a link to a different influential woman for each fragrance. The sustainability element has been important to both teams and they look forward to meeting you at “Fair in the Square” or at the Junior School Summer Fair, or look out for pre-order forms coming soon.
