We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Physical Education to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the PE team, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality PE lessons that promote physical development, encourage a lifelong love of sport and foster a healthy, active lifestyle among our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Junior School Sport in all aspects of the PE and Sport curriculum, including co-curricular and extracurricular programmes from Reception to Year 6.
- Contribute actively to the delivery, development and progression of the PE and Sport curriculum and co-curriculum.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of programmes of study, regularly reviewing them with the Head of Sport and the Deputy Head Academic to ensure effective and efficient learning.
- Plan, assess and provide feedback (verbal, written and via virtual learning platforms) on pupils’ work and report on their progress.
- Support and participate in the organisation of fixtures, including coordinating transport, catering and logistics.
- Organise, lead and support extracurricular provision, including before and after school clubs such as swim squad and cross country, to ensure a broad and inclusive range of opportunities for all pupils.
- Work collaboratively with staff members, including the Head of Sport, PE Assistant, Head of EY & KS1, Head of KS2, Deputy Head, Deputy Head Academic, Assistant Head Co-Curricular, SENCO and Head of Junior School, to support the wellbeing and development of pupils.
- Maintain close collaboration with the PE Department across both the Junior and Senior School to support whole-school initiatives and aims.
- Communicate effectively with parents, both in writing and verbally including during Parents’ Evenings and meetings.
- Keep the Head of Sport and the Junior School Senior Team informed about parental meetings and pupil concerns.
- Write reports on pupil progress setting clear, constructive targets.
- Organise educational visits and residential trips that support and enrich the PE and Sport curriculum.
- Oversee the Junior Duke Award programme.
- Supervise pupils before school, during breaktime and lunchtime in accordance with staff rotas.
- Participate in whole-staff INSET training and attend relevant CPD courses.
- Undertake additional responsibilities relevant to the role, as reasonably assigned by the Head of the Junior School.
Person Specification
Experience & Knowledge
- A BA(Ed), B.Ed, PGCE or QTS teaching qualification with appropriate training and experience across the primary age phase.
- Awareness of current educational developments and best practices in EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
- Commitment to co-curricular activities, fixtures and events before school, during the school day, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Passion for supporting pupils of all abilities to reach their full potential.
- The ability to inspire enthusiasm for learning and physical activity.

- Proven track record of excellent practice and high-quality teaching across a range of year groups.
- Experience in adaptive teaching and curriculum development to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong team player with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues.
