Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Science Technician to join the Science Department from October 2025. The department consists of 9 full-time and 3 part-time members of teaching staff supported by three technicians.  There are currently seven laboratories situated over four floors, although a new STEM building is currently under development and should open in September 2026.  This will have 10 laboratories situated over 2 floors with 3 prep rooms and a lift suitable for technicians and trolleys where required.

To lead the science technician team in providing an efficient and comprehensive technical service across all aspects of the Science Curriculum so that lessons can be conducted in a well-organised, well-resourced, and safe environment.  As well as being the Senior Science Technician, the postholder will also be expected to provide direct technical support to the Physics Department.  The post is full time (with some flexibility in the school holidays) and not term-time only.
