Communitea

Our plans for a Community Tea in April 2020 were thwarted by the pandemic so we were delighted to be able to host our first ‘Communitea’ at Channing last week. Run in conjunction with our partner, Highgate Newtown Community Partners (HNCP) the tea was held on Thursday afternoon in our newly refurbished dining hall.

Guests were greeted by the CEO of HNCP, Andrew Sanalitro and both our Assistant Head: Director of Digital Learning & Technology Mr Grossman and Channing Director of Communications, Marketing & Development Ms Fox. Our visitors enjoyed a selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones and cream alongside fruit and a variety of teas courtesy of our catering department. Year 11 volunteers were on hand to engage in witty conversation, provide a helping hand and answer some tricky digital device questions. Our guests were also able to watch the rehearsal for the Year 11 concert and told us they particularly appreciated the chance to hear some lovely music.

We look forward to hosting more ‘Communiteas’ where the local community can come together in the warmth of the Channing dining hall and join us for tea, cake and help with their digital devices.
