A Day in the Life of Channing Junior School

At Channing Junior School, we offer an enriching and exciting syllabus beyond the confines of a rigid curriculum. Creativity and innovation are developed from the Early Years and across Key Stages 1 and 2.

A Day in the Life of Channing Senior School

The Senior School is a place of great opportunities, Years 7, 8 and 9 are the years to learn, make mistakes, try new things and discover where your true talents lie.

Character Education

We felt that our Junior School pupils would benefit from being able to refer visibly to a set of defined character traits with accompanying tangible characters, which we could weave through every aspect of their educational experience. Pupils and staff were invited to share their ideas about what makes a Channing girl and what we want a Channing girl to be like. Thus, the Channing Characters were born!

Chatting with Channing

Welcome to our award winning podcast series: Chatting with Channing. Chatting with Channing lets the listener find out more about our wonderful school by hearing from people throughout the school community. In each episode, you’ll hear real stories from staff, pupils, parents and alumnae, to give a true reflection of life on Highgate Hill.

Congratulations to Amelia Z in Year 7, who has been shortlisted with her poem in this year’s @gsauk Creative Writing Award.

The competition attracted hundreds of entries, and award-winning poet Karen McCarthy Woolf was hugely impressed with Amelia's haiku:

Barren trees tremble.
Bluebells bring sudden colour
To the crisp, cool earth.

We await the announcement of the overall winner in June!
Anyone up for a shooting challenge?! How many takes did you think it took? 😅
