Where girls thrive as individuals and enjoy success

Year 2 pupils have designed vehicles for their teachers! Today, they have been busy constructing models of them. They are wheely good!

This year for the RSC Schools’ Analyst Competition, our talented Year 12 students stepped into the shoes of analytical chemists to assist their local Trading Standards Office. Their mission? To investigate some unusual products at the Super Sugar Candy Store!

From quantifying vitamin C in tablets to determining dye content in candies and analysing baking soda in cake mixtures, our students showcased their incredible skills and teamwork.

Year 13 Drama and Theatre Studies students concluded their final week at Channing with two superbly original and innovative pieces of devised theatre. Developed through conducting interviews and questionnaires, they collected dialogue from real-life experiences to create two pieces of verbatim theatre.

"Clink" looked at prison life in 2024 and asked whether retribution or reformation is really at the heart of the prison system, and how it impacts those who work in it, visit it, and reside there.

Secondly, "Miss Conception" presented an investigation into the contraceptive pill and how it has shaped the lives of women who use it, highlighting how misunderstandings about hormonal birth control have implications for wider society.

Both pieces were mature, insightful, and impactful for the audience in attendance.
