Chatting with Channing
Last week, the Literary Society shared an assembly with the school, exploring the importance of storytelling throughout human history. They delved into stories and traditions that interested them: from the origins of storytelling on cave walls to the importance of communal storytelling in Passover and Shakespeare, all the way to the stories we tell on social media. Students were asked to consider how we are all storytellers in one way or another, as a means to make sense of the world, feel connected, and communicate. We hope this will encourage everyone to read and share their stories.
Last week, our Senior School Concert Orchestra and Brunner Show Choir performed for Junior School musicians and their parents. The event inspired junior students by showcasing the possibilities in their musical futures, illustrating the transformative impact of Channing`s music education.
Our Year 6 girls have created their own businesses as part of the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. Next week, all Junior School pupils are invited to purchase Kute Keyrings and Prickly Pots, available at break times in the playground. Please send your children with the correct change in a labelled wallet.

Our Year 11s are going on study leave today, but before they dive into the books, we made sure to send them off in style with a morning filled with nostalgia, laughter, games, and of course, the signing of the shirts!
